About This Role:

The Center for Hazardous Substance Research (CHSR) at Kansas State University (KSU) is looking to hire a full-time Events Coordinator to oversee the planning, coordinating of in-person & virtual workshops, conferences and other special events. This position is also responsible for applying knowledge of event planning principles to include cost & budget analysis, facilities requirements, equipment needs and resource management.

This position is eligible for hybrid and/or remote worksite. Work may be performed on employer premises, designated assignment location and/or performed fully in a remote capacity.  An employee who is working remotely must reside within the United States in order to comply with all federal and state laws, filings, or tax requirements.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, hospitality, event planning or related field
  • Experience coordinating events within or supporting a collegiate or academic setting
  • Experience planning and executing large-scale events
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Proactive and has ability to work independently
  • Able to work positively and collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology and computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Office software, Zoom)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
