About This Role:

The Department of Grain Science and Industry is currently seeking applications for a Post-Doc Research Associate in the area of structure, modifications, functional and nutritional properties of starches. The candidate in this position will perform modifications of starch in the laboratory, determine the chemical and physical structure of modified starches and their functional and nutritional properties. The candidate is expected to write reports and manuscripts for publication, and give presentations to industrial companies and at scientific conferences. The candidate must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment. This is a full time, temporary position for 12 months with continuation of this position contingent on the continued funding, satisfactory progress and the need for the services.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:  Ph.D. Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, polymer science, grain science, food science or relevant discipline and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: A strong track record of research publication in referred journals. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to speak clear English. Candidates should be highly motivated, can do research independently and be familiar with polymer characterization techniques.

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$47,476 to $65,000  ($22.82 - $31.25 per hour)
