About This Role

The position is needed to complete a federally funded grant from the National Science Foundation to conduct research described in the application titled ‘The role of heterochromatin in regulating fungal infection and evolution’.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in molecular biology of plants or fungi, genomics, or a related field.

The degree requirement is necessary to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience using molecular techniques to characterize cellular or organismal phenotypes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in genomic library preparation.
  • Experience working with filamentous fungi.
  • Experience in command line bioinformatic analysis.
  • Experience working on transcriptional regulation or epigenomics.
