About This Role

The postdoctoral fellow will join an interdisciplinary team investigating wheat and forage ecology, physiology, and production. The incumbent will be expected to lead both independent and collaborative research to advance understanding of sustainability of the wheat supply chain in Kansas through pertinent analyses including nitrogen balance, substance flow analysis, life cycle assessments from field to consumer, among others. The postdoctoral fellow will be primarily responsible for analysis, interpretation, and synthesis of existing datasets on crop management and associated yield and quality, with the goal of preparing manuscripts for publication in appropriate refereed journals as well as associated extension publications. The postdoc fellow will have the opportunity to present results in professional meetings and to mentor undergraduate and graduate students who join the lab. When appropriate, the postdoc fellow will be able to collaborate with current graduate students to complement their ongoing projects.

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Agronomy or Crop Science at the time of job initiation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with handling large datasets
  • Expertise in traditional and Bayesian statistics
  • Previous publications or PhD dissertation chapters focused on sustainability
  • Previous experience with, or PhD dissertation chapters, focused on different aspects of wheat agronomy

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
