About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in cropping systems, particularly in corn, soybean, and wheat under rainfed agricultural systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research aimed at improving productivity, sustainability, and resilience of rainfed cropping systems, while also leading the development and publication of synthesis papers.
The position will focus on developing, analyzing, and optimizing management practices for corn, soybean, and wheat cropping systems, with an emphasis on rainfed agriculture. This research will be critical to improving resource-use efficiency and mitigating the impacts of climates variability on crop production.

Worksite Option

This position is required to be performed onsite.  Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related field with a focus on cropping systems.
  • Strong understanding of corn, soybean, and wheat production systems, with specific experience in rainfed agriculture.
  • Demonstrated experience in field research, data collection, and analysis.
  • Proven track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals, particularly synthesis.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with statistical software and modeling tools used in crop research.  
  • Familiarity with climate-smart agriculture practices and sustainable intensification strategies.
  • Strong background in water use efficiency and nutrient management in cropping systems.
