About This Role:

The Division of Marketing and Communications at Kansas State University is seeking a graphic designer to fulfill the design needs of campus clients and contribute to the growth of the institution’s overall brand. This position will develop and produce design solutions across print and digital platforms for a wide variety of campus clients including the Offices of the President and Provost, academic colleges and departments, student life units and more, with primary focus on new student recruitment design needs for the Office of Enrollment Management and the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.

The graphic designer will provide their skills and expertise to the entire life-cycle of projects from development to final delivery. This will include collaborating with other members of the DMC team, as well as meeting with clients and other vendors, to ensure design solutions accomplish client goals and successfully grow the institutional brand.

This position is an ideal fit for a designer who can blend discipline and creativity to generate successful and unique solutions to marketing challenges and who is ready to take the next step in their creative development. This position reports to the Creative Director within the Division of Communications and Marketing.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience as a graphic designer or similar position
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office
  • Strong editing skills and attention to detail
  • Two or more years working with and developing projects for clients
  • Experience with illustration, motion graphics/animation or other specialized design fields
  • Background in brand development or logo/identity design
  • Experience with publications and layout work
  • Experience with an online project management system
  • Excellent communicator with strong written communication skills and the ability to communicate well
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
