About This Role:

The Incident Response Analyst is crucial in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cybersecurity incidents to enhance the university's security posture. The position also involves collaborating closely with the SIOC team to optimize resource use, improve system performance, and ensure high levels of end-user satisfaction by maintaining a proactive and efficient response to security threats within the university's IT infrastructure.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Cybersecurity Experience: Solid experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on incident detection, analysis, and response. Knowledge of security operations and incident handling within a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment is highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in using cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems), and threat intelligence platforms. Familiarity with security standards and best practices for incident response.
  • Collaborative and Vendor Interaction Skills: Experience in working effectively within a team and collaborating with external vendors to enhance security measures. Understanding of the contractual and operational aspects of working with security service providers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively articulating security risks and incident reports to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
