About This Role

The Student Access Center supports students with disabilities enrolled at Kansas State University.  As Kansas State University is building support for accessibility in our digital spaces, the SAC seeks to support those making digital content as it fosters student access.  One step in this initiative is the hiring of an Instructional Accessibility and Training Team Leader.  This staff member will lead our work in developing guidance for creating accessible content, implementing new tools to foster accessible content creation, and work with colleagues across the institution to train faculty and staff on the use of these tools.  They will become a partner in the development of policy and protocol around accessible digital content.

The primary role of the Instructional Accessibility and Training Team Leader will be to provide technical assistance, training and resources to faculty and staff in creating accessible educational content. Responsibilities include assistance with policy development; regular assessment of campus digital accessibility practices; coordinating campus resources to train and guide implementation; collaborating across campus units to lead grant submissions with Academic Affairs and Innovation and the Office of the Provost.  This position fosters strong universal design for learning frameworks across the institution, promoting accessibility as a shared responsibility.

The Instructional Accessibility and Training Team Leader works collaboratively to support instructional accessibility in our credit and non-credit programs.  This position collaborates most closely with the Office of Academic Affairs and Innovation staff.  They will build strong collaborative relationships with the Teaching and Learning Center, Information Technology, and other academic units.
