About Us

The Early Childhood Education program offers a range of academic options at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. At the undergraduate level, the program combines early childhood education and early childhood special education into one blended bachelor’s degree program. There are two paths learners can pursue: 1) teacher licensure and 2) non-licensure. In cooperation with the College of Education, learners in the teacher licensure path who complete the full degree requirements are eligible to apply for a Kansas teaching license in early childhood unified (birth through kindergarten). Learners in the non-licensure track pursue careers as early childhood administrators, child care licensing agents, classroom educators, and training and technical assistance specialists. The Early Childhood Education program also offers two undergraduate minors and one undergraduate certificate. At the graduate level, the Early Childhood Education program offers a master’s degree. Faculty in the program are working on a new strategic plan to meet the dynamic needs of the workforce. The position will be able to help contribute to this vision.

The College of Health and Human Sciences inspires and prepares passionate and caring individuals for a meaningful life and a career that promotes human well-being in the areas of business, design, teacher education, human behavior, and health sciences. Home to 16 undergraduate and 22 graduate degree programs housed in the Schools of Consumer Sciences, Health Sciences, and Human Sciences, we provide students with the education and skills needed to make an impact in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.
