About This Role

This is a full-time 12-month Investigator position. Kansas State University is committed to fostering a student, faculty, and staff environment that is rooted in respect and fair practices. The Office of Civil Rights & Title IX is engaged in ensuring the university adheres to the laws, regulations, executive orders, and other applicable polices that uphold this guiding principle.

About Us

The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX’s goal is to serve as a resource for the university and to coordinate fair treatment and practices to all regardless of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, and sex. The office completes all investigation into Title VI, VII, and IX matters. This includes providing resources, investigations, and compliance efforts.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred in student affairs, higher education administration, social work, sociology, psychology, or related area
  • Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA, FERPA, equal employment opportunity, the Americans with Disabilities Act, other applicable civil rights and employment laws, regulations and court decisions
  • Knowledge of Title IX, trends, legal obligations, and initiatives nationally and locally
  • Principles of conducting investigations, including interview methods and techniques
  • Research methods and data analysis techniques
  • Higher Education experience
  • Four years of experience in the development and delivery of anti-discrimination training programs.
  • Title VI, VII, IX investigation training.
  • Three years of relevant experience (Investigations, Civil Rights Law, Case Management)

Other Requirements:

  • Investigator Certification(s) Preferred (i.e. NACUA, ASCA, ATIXA, etc. or similar)

Sponsorship eligibility:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
