About This Role

The NACADA Program/Project Consultant is a contributing member of the NACADA Center for Research, covering programs and initiatives related to research, publications, and partnerships. The successful candidate will provide research and project support that contributes to an empirically sound background for center activities. This position designs, tests, and evaluates research projects toward the goals of the NACADA Center for Research. This position analyzes research data, provides interpretations, and prepares research records, reports, and other documentation for publication and presentation.

NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising is the premier Association for student success through academic advising in higher education. Formally chartered on May 2, 1979, NACADA serves its members through a variety of professional development and networking opportunities. The NACADA Center for Research at Kansas State University is the first global think tank dedicated to research in academic advising and student success and serves as a resource for advancing the scholarly practice and applied research related to academic advising. This position will support research and evaluation work for the NACADA Center for Research across a range of projects under NACADA’s research agenda of impact, context, and theories of academic advising in higher education.

Worksite Option

This position is eligible for hybrid and/or remote worksite. Work may be performed on employer premises, designated assignment location and/or performed fully in a remote capacity. Out-of-state travel related to attendance at educational events for NACADA events (meetings and conferences) and professional development activities may be required.

An employee who is working remotely must reside within the United States in order to comply with all federal and state laws, filings, or tax requirements. What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Qualitative and quantitative analytic and evaluation skills
• Data collection and database management skills, including academic database tools such as Zotero
• Writing and reporting skills
• Project implementation support
• Presentation and group facilitation skills
• Demonstrated participatory and team-oriented style of interaction
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques, methodologies, equipment, processes, and procedures
• Experience with at least one electronic survey platform (e.g., Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Survey Sparrow)
• Experience with at least one data processing/statistical package or programming language (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Stata, R, Python) and at least one qualitative analysis package (e.g., Dedoose, NVivo)
• Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and exhibit excellent customer service
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Experience with at least one data presentation tool (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau)
• Evidence of scholarly research agenda
• Master’s degree and five years of relevant experience
• Terminal degree in field related to educational research
• Evidence of at least 5 years of project management experience

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range

$25.76-$41.20 hourly depending on qualifications
