Responsible for providing psychiatric care to KSU students. Practitioner is expected to work independently in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act established treatment protocols, and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
This position is responsible for providing psychiatric care through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues.
Plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care based on normal/abnormal findings using assessment skills and existing protocols.
Assess the need for consultation and collaboration with other team members (i.e. medical providers and/or CAPS clinicians). Refer patients to appropriate campus/community resources.
Serves as a mental health consultant to other medical providers and clinicians within the organization.
Lafene Health Center provides students with accessible, high quality, and affordable outpatient healthcare, focusing on keeping students healthy and promoting a healthy campus community. Care is provided by board certified physicians and nurse practitioners, as well as nursing professionals. Students receive the same high quality care one would expect from their healthcare providers at home.
