About This Role

K-State Olathe (https://olathe.k-state.edu/) seeks 1-2 individuals passionate about teaching nutrition classes to undergraduate students for two evening, in-person classes to be held at the K-State Olathe campus in Fall 2026. Classes are for the School of Health Sciences preparing students for careers and additional education in public health, human nutrition and dietetics.

The position is a non-tenure track member of the faculty whose primary role is instructional. Positions are temporary, part-time (maximum of 0.45 FTE), non-benefits eligible. Appointments are for one semester, renewable, and subject to review, funding, and adequate student enrollment.

Kansas State University’s Olathe campus was launched in April 2011 and is the newest campus in the university’s system. The campus is located in Johnson County and the Greater Kansas City metro area. The campus is a strategic partner of the Johnson County Education and Research Triangle, which was created in 2008 when residents invested in the county's future by voting for a one-eighth cent sales tax. The proceeds from this tax generate more than $20 million a year to fund higher education through a unique partnership among Johnson County, the University of Kansas, and Kansas State University.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

· A master’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, nutrition science, or related field

The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentials
· Experience with college/university-level teaching
· 3 years of relevant work experience

Additional Role Information:

· Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
· Must be able to work evenings.
