About This Role

Come join us in the Social Transformation Studies department! This position will serve as administrative support to the Department Head and as general office support for faculty and students. 

Specific job responsibilities will include: 

  • Serving as a liaison between faculty, Dean’s Office, Shared Services, and other departments across campus  

  • Supervise and evaluate student office employees  

  • Create and submit purchase orders and reports  

  • Misc duties like answering phone calls, making copies, sorting mail, preparing routine correspondence, and scheduling meetings and rooms

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One-year relevant experience in an administrative support position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience in an administrative support position or office management.
  • Demonstrated ability in performing highly detailed tasks, including creating and editing spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Event planning and organizing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in operating computers, printers, copiers and scanners.
  • Attention to detail, as well as the ability to proofread and edit, are extremely important in this position, as is the ability to work independently. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office is very important, especially Excel. A
  • Ability to use OneDrive and/or Dropbox is also important.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability and willingness to work well with an inclusive group of faculty and students. Familiarity with the academic fields of American Ethnic Studies and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies is appreciated.
