The Program Administrator provides high-level administrative support to the Department of Agricultural Economics and its Department Head. The incumbent will evaluate, direct and organize all matters referred to the office and prioritize activities while also ensuring compliance with all applicable procedures, policies and regulations. The position requires the ability to interact in a professional and timely manner, with a broad range of individuals, including students, faculty, staff, directors, and deans as well as donors, alumni, and other external stakeholders. The incumbent should be self-motivated, organized, a team player and able to work independently while handling a wide variety of duties and deadlines.
This position will serve as the primary hiring liaison between the department and the College of Agriculture. They will manage and oversee the onboarding of successful candidates for newly filled departmental positions.
The incumbent will organize and facilitate meetings and conferences. Gather information and implement directives from the department head. This includes creating, composing, and editing administrative correspondence, organizing and coordinating processes for Promotion and Tenure, evaluation documents, and departmental documents for the department head.
This position plans, manages, implements, and promotes department level events and activities including retirement receptions, Scholarship and Awards Banquet, Alumni Tailgate, holiday and social events.
The Program Administrator will assist with the department publications, newsletters and press releases, promoting a positive image of the department and the university
The Department has a reputation for excellence in all three functions of the University’s land grant mission (teaching, research, and extension). The Department offers B.S. degrees in agricultural economics and agribusiness, an M.S. degree in agricultural economics, a Master of Agribusiness (MAB) degree, and a Ph.D. in agricultural economics. This position is on-site. This role is expected to be performed on-site five days a week.
