About This Role

The Innovative Digital Education Alliance (IDEA) team, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire a Program Assistant. This position will work directly with the IDEA Executive Director and management team in a collaborative environment that oversees the operation of the alliance and provides administrative support for the Institute for Academic Alliances (IAA). The Program Assistant will support all levels of the alliance, including the activities of the academic programs, data collection and management, administration of alliance finances, and scheduling of meetings and communications.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Order, print, store, and mail alliance promotional items
  • Schedule meetings and conference calls
  • Prepare documents and equipment for meetings and conference calls
  • Manage website directory and listserv
  • Coordinate IDEA’s online newsletter
  • Respond to communications from prospective and current students via IDEA email and live chat
  • Collect, enter, and maintain data for program assessment, budget preparation, and program revenue analysis reports
  • Manage invoicing for IAA users

This is a 12-month, benefits-eligible position. Tenths will be negotiable upon offer for the selected candidate, with a minimum of 30 hours per week expected.

The Innovative Digital Education Alliance (IDEA) is a multi‐institutional alliance that offers distance education programs primarily at the graduate level in Human Sciences and Agriculture. Under a contract with the IDEA Cabinet, Kansas State University is the Lead Institution and provides management services to IDEA. Additional information about IDEA can be found at www.idea.edu.

The College of Health and Human Sciences is home to six academic departments (Applied Human Sciences; Food, Nutrition, Dietetics & Health; Hospitality Management; Interior Design & Fashion Studies; Personal Financial Planning; and Kinesiology), the Center on Aging, Physician Assistant program, and a Nursing partnership with Wichita State University. The College enrolls more than 2,300 undergraduate and 400 graduate students and employs more than 115 full-time faculty members in teaching, research, and Extension positions (https://www.hhs.k-state.edu/). What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • One year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years of experience working in higher education
  • Ability to speak, listen, and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in-person, by phone, and online
  • Enjoys teamwork and collaborative problem solving
  • Proficient using the latest version of Microsoft Office, email, and search engines
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize web tools for communication
  • Demonstrated ability to organize complex projects, solve problems, and initiate and complete activities independently in a timely manner
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and transmit complex information from a variety of sources
  • Ability to design and enter information in a variety of formats (such as narrative, manuscripts, business correspondence, statistical tables, etc.)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to proofread and edit for grammar, spelling, syntax, and style
  • High degree of motivation, flexibility to multi-task, reliability, responsiveness, and attention to detail
  • Experience working with faculty or administration in an academic setting
  • Self-starter, creative, and innovative
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with online education as a student, teacher, or other support role
  •
