About This Role

The Clinical Trials Coordinator is a position of responsibility in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Kansas State University.  This position will work with faculty from all services at the Veterinary Health Center actively conducting clinical research trials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating clinical trials throughout the Veterinary Health Center with responsibilities to access patient data to determine qualification for clinical trial enrollment, organize visits for enrolled patients, request diagnostic testing and ancillary service consultation, and statistical evaluation of data. The Clinical Trials Coordinator will be interacting with private practice veterinarians and animal owners regarding criteria for patient enrollment, patient status updates, treatment instructions, and timing/expectations for repeat appointments. They will also be interacting with industry sponsors regarding potential and ongoing trials.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year experience in a veterinary hospital and/or research laboratory preferred.  Familiarity with medical terminology and experiences in interacting with patients. Experience in research protocols and coordination.  Working knowledge of statistics and graphing.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.  All CVM employees must complete basic safety training.  Newly hired laboratory personnel must complete all training before work may begin in the laboratory.  All other personnel have 2 weeks to complete training.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
