About This Role

Kansas State University and the College of Agriculture seeks a collaborative Student Programs Coordinator. The Student Programs Coordinator provides essential administrative support within the academic student services function. Utilizing a comprehensive understanding of institutional programs, procedures, and policies, this role assists current and prospective students, parents, and faculty with a variety of inquiries and topics. Key responsibilities include managing student records, facilitating prospective student visits, supporting departmental student organizations, and coordinating internship opportunities. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Apply knowledge of programs, procedures, and policies to provide efficient administrative assistance within the academic student services function, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. 
  • Manage and maintain student records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure timely processing of documentation and records in compliance with institutional policies.  
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to coordinate internship opportunities for students.  
  • Track and maintain records of student internships and co-op placements and assist with related administrative tasks.
  • Respond to inquiries from current and prospective students and parents via phone, email, and in-person interactions.  
  • Provide accurate information about academic programs, student services, and campus events. 
  • Serve as back-up for prospective student visits when the recruiter is not available.
  • Organize and facilitate customized college tours and visits for prospective students when requested. 
  • Provide administrative assistance to faculty in support of departmental student organizations. 
  • Support planning, organization and execution of student organization events and meetings.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience. This position may use an educational
    equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

     • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
     • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
     • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information systems.
     • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
     • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
     • Familiarity with enrollment management systems and student information systems (e.g.,
Banner, PeopleSoft).
     • Experience handling student records and maintaining confidentiality.
     • Problem-solving skills and a student-centered approach to service delivery.
     • Knowledge of FERPA regulations and best practices in academic record management.
     • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and student-centered environment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range

$20.30-25.87 per hour ($46,000 - $54,000 annually)
