About This Role:

The KAWSE Office (Kansas State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering) at Kansas State University is actively seeking a temporary Program Assistant. The incumbent will report to the KAWSE Executive Director and provide support to the Executive Director and the KAWSE Program Coordinator.

Key responsibilities include managing inquiries via telephone, email, and other communication channels, coordinating and scheduling meetings, and preparing comprehensive agendas and background materials. The role also involves organizing travel arrangements and ensuring all necessary information is prepared for KAWSE events.

Additionally, the Program Coordinator will oversee the financial accounts for the KAWSE Office, ensuring that all payments and reimbursements are processed according to established business procedures. This role includes supervising temporary student employees who assist in the execution of workshops and other events sponsored by the KAWSE office, ensuring smooth and successful operations.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Evidence of excellent written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people in various circumstances including periods of high stress
  • Experience with standard office and website technology including Quiken, K-State’s HRIS, EFORMS, etc.
  • General event planning
  • General office equipment knowledge (e.g., copiers, faxes, multi-line phone, scanners)
