About This Role

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our dedicated Cardiology team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position conducts specialized ultrasound examinations to provide information to veterinarians for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of injuries and illnesses in patients of the Cardiology department within the Veterinary Health Center. Responsible for performing diagnostic medical ultrasound procedures to assess cardiac structures in accordance with accepted protocols. Typical working hours for this position will include Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an American Medical Association approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Certified through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary medical concepts, animal behavior and animal husbandry.
  • Ability to adhere to appropriate safety procedures.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and be proactive in assisting others.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in high intensity environment.
  • Skilled in time management and prioritizing daily responsibilities.
  • Skilled in interpersonal and written communication.
  • Skilled in basic computer skills.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range

  • $29.61-$47.38 per hour
