About This Role

The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University seeks a Veterinary Sample Processing Specialist-Accessioning.  The primary task will be to receive and accession samples arriving at the KSVDL (Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory) for diagnostic testing. Additional duties will be to assist clients/stakeholders (clients, faculty, residents, students, coworkers, labs) regarding client accounts, sample reception, submission, and appropriate testing requirements accessioning, referrals, and results. Responsible for client communications by phone, email, and walk in appointments.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 1 year of veterinary laboratory sample handling/accessioning
  • General experience with computer software and experience using LIMS systems
  • Use of a computer to enter/generate data in VetView and Microsoft Office Software
  • Knowledge of clinical specimens/testing and medical data bases as documented in the application materials
  • Animal Science/Veterinary Medical experience/education
