About This Role:

Responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of select scholarship programs where coordination with the awarding entity is needed (ex: state scholarships from KBOR, National Merit, philanthropic educational foundations, etc.). Duties include:

  • Award and reconcile scholarship funding from each organization adhering to donor specific criteria
  • Adjust federal student aid in keeping with federal/state regulations and institutional policies
  • Create predictive award models premised on historic enrollment patterns and trends
  • Develop and present training materials for office staff and for the division of enrollment management
  • Cultivating collaborative relationships with scholarship entities

 

Administer, track, and audit all scholarships made by K-State Athletics. Tasks include:

  • Interpret and apply complex statutory and regulatory guidelines as it pertains to NCAA Bylaw 15.
  • Track and monitor all student aid awards made to student athletes.
  • Serve as the in-house expert on athletic awards.
  • Audit athletic sponsorships to verify NCAA Compliance and accuracy of athletic scholarships.
  • Work in tandem with the K-State Athletic Compliance Office to apply athletic aid and adjustments in a timely fashion

 

Manages all aspects of sponsorships and waivers within a shared processing approach.  Tasks include:

  • Review reports daily to ensure the student’s awards accurately reflect the assistance received and adjusting financial aid where appropriate.
  • Perform system updates supportive of recruitment tuition waivers.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with other campus partners involved in sponsorship and waiver processing.

Support the overall functions of the office’s enrollment management and student service missions throughout the year. Duties include:

  • Assist with mission critical scholarship processing that may include processing outside/private scholarship awards and accompanying financial aid adjustments during peak periods of time.
  • Perform short term awarding and processing tasks supportive of overall office mission and enrollment management strategies.
  • Counsel prospective and continuing students on all scholarship opportunities available at the University.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Requires one to three years relevant experience
  • This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 – 3 years experience utilizing a third party, higher education student information system such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Powerfaids, etc.
  • 2 - 3 years experience in accounting, budgeting, or similar financial tasks
  • Strong track record of collaboratively working across business units toward common mission-critical outcomes.
  • Robust customer service experience requiring ability to detail/explain complex regulatory/policy rules in an administrative/office setting.
  • 1 - 2 years providing training and/or presentations to small-medium size audiences
  • Prefer experience in designing, testing, and creating business reports and/or experience extracting data utilizing query or crystal reports.
  • Prefer exposure to a large post-secondary educational institution as an employee or student.
  •  1 – 2 years robust understanding and application of federal, Title IV, student financial aid regulations

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
  • Incumbent may not be in default on a federal student loan and/or owe any federal grant overpayment.
