About This Role:

Kansas State University Salina is seeking an experienced Custodial Specialist to become a member of the Facilities team. This individual will directly contribute to the continued support of a clean environment in the campus buildings through their knowledge of materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations as well as commercial equipment.

This position is scheduled 5:30am-2:00pm Monday through Friday and is eligible for a $.60 shift differential.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• None

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer One Year experience in completion of industrial/commercial type cleaning.
• Prefer knowledge of the materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations, and the operation, use, and care of vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, scrubbing machines, polishing machines, and other janitorial equipment.
• Prefer ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces, and the ability to read and follow instructions.

Other Requirements:

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
• Valid driver's license upon employment. Van training and Safety training within the probationary period.
• Work requires considerable physical exertion to transport equipment and supplies associated with custodial work, weighing 50 pounds or more, unassisted, on a repetitive basis throughout the completion of assigned tasks.
• This position is considered essential for inclement weather and other campus emergencies.
