This position is responsible for planning and scheduling new electrical distribution centers and maintain and repair the existing distribution centers which control the power for the campus, both high voltage (4,160V – 12,500V) and low voltage (110v, 220V, 240V, 440V, 480V). Be knowledgeable and proficient in the high voltage loop system on campus to enable the back feeding of high voltage to building substations in order to ensure minimum electrical outage time. K-State is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of Executive Director of Applied Learning, a new position reporting directly to the Dean of the Mary Lynn and Warren Staley School of Leadership. As the leader of a university strategic initiative, the Executive Director will play a pivotal role in coordinating and advancing applied learning strategies and activities across the university while building a robust, integrated applied learning function throughout the university. This position is responsible for ensuring the availability and quality of applied learning experiences at K-State, including a commitment to an educational approach that involves purposeful experience, intentional observation, and critical reflection. The Executive Director will be essential in developing the foundation for this university-wide initiative, including tracking and reporting mechanisms, developing policies and procedures, building and expanding a network of stakeholders at the university and in communities, providing direction and support for faculty in expanding existing and creating new applied learning experiences, and promoting and supporting the integration of applied learning experiences across the entire institution.

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a full time, 12-month, Post-Doctoral Fellow position. This Post-Doctoral position for independent research including but not limited to viruses such as Influenza, African swine fever, Vesicular Stomatitis, Rift Valley Fever, Monkey Pox and other select agents under both BSL-2 and BSL-3 bio-containment conditions. Duties would include planning and conducting experiments; writing and editing manuscripts/articles; establishing procedures and techniques; and provide educational guidance to students. This position is part of a very busy, successful research team whose main goal is to develop rationally designed vaccines and diagnostics against high-consequence foreign animal, emerging and zoonotic disease threats. The position requires the individual to display critical thinking and independent judgement as it relates to ongoing and new molecular, viral research with direct guidance from the Research Science Manager and Primary Investigator. The research is conducted at the BSL2 and BSL3 level of containment and utilizes several select target animal models such as pigs, cows, chickens and mice. The position requires the acquisition and maintenance of a DOJ Select Agent clearance.
