While there are many responsibilities of this position, the primary responsibility is to work collaboratively with veterinary students, interns, residents, and faculty clinicians to provide medical and radiation oncology treatments for patients. Communication and leadership skills are utilized daily to facilitate treatment schedules, coordinate student orientations, and assist in communication with clients. Veterinary Nurses have the opportunity to advance their skillsets through continuing education, various learning experiences, and subspecialty certifications recognized by NAVTA. The VHC also has an established career ladder for veterinary nurses to provide opportunities for professional advancements. Working hours for Veterinary Nurses in this position will include daytime hours Monday-Friday.

Kansas Forest Service is hiring a full-time District Community Forester position for the southeast district of the Community Forestry Program. The position supports the Community Forestry Program by assisting communities in planning, managing, education/outreach and developing tree resources to improve environmental, economic, ecological, social, beautification and recreational benefits. Responsibilities include: • Providing community forestry technical assistance to communities and partners of the southeast district. • Planning, developing, and conducting a balanced full-service forestry program to meet the needs of the resource and communities in a positive and professional manner. • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with federal, state and local agencies, and organizations on forestry related programs. Incumbent delivers community forestry services with limited direct supervision. Approximately 50% of the time will be spent in the field, travel is routine with occasional overnight travel for special duties and training. Work may need to be done in inclement weather on occasion. This position is located within the Southeast Community Forestry District in Haysville, KS.

This position plans, organizes, directs, and controls technical work in the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit of the KSU-VHC during an established shift. Employee maintains equipment and supply status in the SA-ICU area and is responsible for assisting clinicians and senior veterinary students as they provide critical care to client cases in this work area. Responsible for overseeing the cleanliness of the work area, supervising the primary care of critical patients, and ensuring that supplies are not outdated. Monitors medical records and ICU orders of patients for completeness, accuracy, and financial accountability. This position is also responsible for the coordination of animal treatments. Instruct, train, and supervise students and employees in approved treatment techniques.

Nurses in this position play a vital role in providing support for busy surgery schedules, assisting with educational opportunities, and contributing to meaningful research. Nurses are given the opportunity to advance their skillset through continuing education and various learning experiences. Excellent communication and leadership skills are utilized daily in this position. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a rotating emergency on-call schedule.
