The Department of Geology at Kansas State University invites applications for a Instructor position for one academic year beginning in August 2024. We seek an enthusiastic and versatile geologists able to contribute to our growing research in Hydrogeology. It is expected that the successful candidate will teach two introductory geology course sections during the Fall 2024 term, and during the Spring 2025 term, one section of introductory geology and one section of Hydrogeology. In addition, the lecturer will contribute to new and exciting research avenues that complement existing research efforts and publish results in peer-reviewed journals. Engagement in graduate and undergraduate mentoring and graduate-level instruction may also be possible.

This role oversees compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and university guidelines with regard to HR activities at the institution, managing and developing institutional policy in support of overall goals. The incumbent regularly collaborates with stakeholders and is one of two leaders who may represent HR in the absence of the CHRO.

The Budget/Fiscal Officer II reports to the Associate Dean for Operations and Administration and is responsible for managing the business affairs and providing oversight of human resource functions within the college. The position is responsible for preparing the annual budget and providing detailed reporting on the annual budget during the fiscal year. The position also oversees the business operations of four departments and two centers. This position will analyze, plan, develop, and present, practices to effectively improve efficiencies in the college business functions and integrate with university practices and systems. This position will provide input in the interpretation of policies and procedures in situations involving personnel issues.
