Subject to on-call, standby and inclement weather response. This position is considered essential. Responsible to know, understand, and follow safety guidelines in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, to include K-State and Facilities policies and procedures. Responsible for complying with the safe work practices identified in the departmental Job Hazard Analysis, Personal Protective Equipment Assessment and Departmental Safety Orientation Acknowledgment form. Responsible for the implementation of safety regulations, guidelines, and work practices to prevent injury to yourself and others.

This position supports the routine and specialized care of hospitalized animals in the VHC by maintaining and ensuring a sanitary and safe environment for patients, faculty, staff, students, and visitors. This position is primarily responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of small animal common and ancillary areas of the hospital. Working hours for this position will include daytime hours Monday–Friday with occasional on-call coverage on weekends and holidays. Individuals in this position must be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
