K-State is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of Executive Director of Applied Learning, a new position reporting directly to the Dean of the Mary Lynn and Warren Staley School of Leadership. As the leader of a university strategic initiative, the Executive Director will play a pivotal role in coordinating and advancing applied learning strategies and activities across the university while building a robust, integrated applied learning function throughout the university. This position is responsible for ensuring the availability and quality of applied learning experiences at K-State, including a commitment to an educational approach that involves purposeful experience, intentional observation, and critical reflection. The Executive Director will be essential in developing the foundation for this university-wide initiative, including tracking and reporting mechanisms, developing policies and procedures, building and expanding a network of stakeholders at the university and in communities, providing direction and support for faculty in expanding existing and creating new applied learning experiences, and promoting and supporting the integration of applied learning experiences across the entire institution.

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Nurse I, II, or III to join our dedicated Small Animal Surgery team. Though there are many responsibilities of someone in the role, the primary responsibilities are to assist in providing quality veterinary patient care and help with procedures for client, teaching, and research animals within the VHC. Nurses in this position play a vital role in providing support for busy surgery schedules, assisting with educational opportunities, and contributing to meaningful research. Nurses are given the opportunity to advance their skillset through continuing education and various learning experiences. Excellent communication and leadership skills are utilized daily in this position. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a rotating emergency on-call schedule.

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support for the surgery team in caring for client, teaching, and research animals in the VHC. Though there are many ways Veterinary Assistants provide support, some of the key ways are through enhancing help during busy surgery schedules, assisting with teaching opportunities, and helping with research projects. Individuals in this role will also provide meaningful support through maintaining inventory, organizing necessary equipment, and monitoring and assisting in basic aspects of patient care. About Kansas State College Advising Corps (KSCAC) KSCAC is a college access program aiming to support high school students in finding their best-fit postsecondary pathway. As part of the College Advising Corps network, KSCAC aims to increase the number of first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students who enter and complete higher education. We hire recent college graduates to serve as College Advisers full-time in high schools across the state of Kansas. Our College Advisers work closely with students to ensure that they are aware of all options, whether it be community college, four-year university, workforce, or military.
