The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Nurse I, II, or III to join our dedicated Small Animal Surgery team. Though there are many responsibilities of someone in the role, the primary responsibilities are to assist in providing quality veterinary patient care and help with procedures for client, teaching, and research animals within the VHC. Nurses in this position play a vital role in providing support for busy surgery schedules, assisting with educational opportunities, and contributing to meaningful research. Nurses are given the opportunity to advance their skillset through continuing education and various learning experiences. Excellent communication and leadership skills are utilized daily in this position. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a rotating emergency on-call schedule.

Communication and leadership skills are utilized daily to facilitate treatment schedules, coordinate student orientations, and assist in communication with clients. Veterinary Nurses have the opportunity to advance their skillsets through continuing education, various learning experiences, and subspecialty certifications recognized by NAVTA. Working hours for Veterinary Nurses in this position will include daytime hours Monday-Friday.
