Postdoc Associate for Automated Tracking and AI Deep Learning Analytics in Olathe, Kansas
K-State Olathe is hiring a Fellow Post Doc to help design and engineer a novel deep learning technology that will use visual, audio, and other sensory data to track the behaviors of pigs in a pen continuously and in test arenas that are used to measure cognition and dominance. In light of this technology, the Fellow Post Doc will be requested to perform a comparative analysis from at an adaptive resolution rate based on multiple cameras installed in the pens and arenas designed by Dr. Hulbert for the Sorghum Project. Sorghum fermented products and genome data will be used to mitigate stress, inflammatory, and behavioral responses in adult pigs using computer vision system that must have restricted feed intake to maintain a healthy body weight or reduce weight after becoming overweight. This position is full-time, exempt (salaried), term position.

Research Assistant in Manhattan, Kansas
Recruiting participants and scheduling their participation times. Collecting data by running participants in human IRB-approved experiments. Will determine participant eligibility for research studies through screenings. Experiments involve completing computerized tasks (e.g., Physics learning module, pre- and post-tests of learning Physics, interviewing participants about their attention during learning, short questionnaires, measuring short-term memory) while collecting data using eye tracking, webcam, and egocentric head-mounted video camera, and computer mouse. All experiments are non-invasive, minimal risk, and approved by the IRB. The condition is a normal office environment with no hazardous conditions. Pre-processing data using supplied software, and post-processing of data (hand coding of data). Storing participant data on hard drives and the cloud.

This position holds many engaging responsibilities including helping to provide vital care for critical patients, operating medical equipment, and performing or assisting in technical procedures. Nurses on this team assist in day-to-day responsibilities like monitoring medical records, organizing technical work, maintaining equipment and supply statuses, as well as coordinating animal treatments. Veterinary Nurses have the opportunity to advance their skillsets through continuing education and various learning experiences. The VHC also has an established career ladder for veterinary nurses to provide opportunities for professional advancements. Veterinary Nurses in this position work 12-hour shifts three days per week. Communication and collaboration skills will be utilized daily.

Nurses are given the opportunity to advance their skillset through continuing education and various learning experiences. Excellent communication and leadership skills are utilized daily in this position. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a rotating emergency on-call schedule.
