Primary purpose is to coordinate technical services required for providing quality veterinary care to client, teaching and research patients presented to the Large Animal Barn for treatment. This position is also responsible for monitoring veterinary students and entering information into the electronic medical records system. Stocking and cleanliness of the large animal barn. Lastly, this position is responsible for coordination of animal treatments, instruct, train and supervise students and employees in approved treatment technique(s).

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Nurse I, II, or III to join our dedicated Small Animal Surgery team. Though there are many responsibilities of someone in the role, the primary responsibilities are to assist in providing quality veterinary patient care and help with procedures for client, teaching, and research animals within the VHC. Nurses in this position play a vital role in providing support for busy surgery schedules, assisting with educational opportunities, and contributing to meaningful research. Nurses are given the opportunity to advance their skillset through continuing education and various learning experiences. Excellent communication and leadership skills are utilized daily in this position. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a rotating emergency on-call schedule.
