Utilize excellent interpersonal communication and relational skills to help students reach their career and academic goals. Engage in collaborative advising conversations with online learners while assisting them in academic and course planning, professional preparation, and connections to university resources. Be able to understand the characteristics and needs of adult online learners, and best practices for advising online students to identify issues and make appropriate referrals. Work closely with partner colleges and the online team of academic advisors to coordinate communications and advising practices to students. Utilize various student information systems to assess student progress and record contacts in digital notes systems. Collaborate and meet regularly as part of the student success and advising team. The Online Academic Advisor reports to the Executive Director of Academic Advising in the department of Academic and Career Engagement within the División of Academic Success and Student Affairs.
