FAQ Career Skills Program

Yes, K-State is approved for CSPs and DoD SkillBridge under the KansasWorks MOU umbrella.  

  • First, please fill out an expression of interest application.
  • Upon submission of your materials K-State HR will review your application and send it to departments that may be a match for your skills, interests, and timeline.
  • K-State HR or a hiring manager will reach out to you if there is a match. You may be invited to an informal or formal interview with the hiring manager to determine your eligibility for the position in which you are interested.
  • Please provide your department with any necessary documentation. 

K-State has a variety of departments across our campus each with diverse jobs in different areas of expertise. We will try to match you with an internship that suits your skills and interests. Areas of interest include:

  • Business, accounting, and finance
  • Communications and marketing
  • Facilitates, grounds, and skilled trades
  • Health and safety
  • Student affairs and services
  • Administrative and professional
  • Information Technology
  • Executive, director, or management
  • Human resources
  • Agriculture and animal health

  • When your internship is over, your hiring manager and you will discuss if a permanent position is available for you.  
  • If no position is available, K-State HR will work with you to provide resources for other positions available at K-State that you may qualify for. From there you would apply for the position and go through the standard hiring process.
