Fellow (Post Doc) Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Fellow (Post Doc). This position is for a Post-Doctoral fellow to conduct independent research as part of a newly established research team at K-State (Souza-Neto Lab). This position focuses primarily on studying the interplay between host/vector-virus-microbiome in agricultural and zoonotic arboviruses. The selected candidate will engage in research activities encompassing a wide repertoire of modern technologies including WGS, RNA-seq, 16S microbiomics, gene silencing and genome editing to identify target genes and microbes important for virus infection/transmission that could be further used to the development of countermeasure tools to such diseases. This position is part of multidisciplinary and collaborative activities that will require engagement with collaborators within and outside the college, including USDA, and requires dedication to activities related to insect vectors (mosquito) rearing and manipulation, and eventual support to animal. Duties would include planning and conducting experiments; writing and editing manuscripts/articles; establishing procedures and techniques; and provide educational guidance to students. The position requires the individual to display critical thinking and independent judgement as it relates to ongoing and new molecular, viral, host and vector research with direct guidance from the Principal Investigator.
Instructional Designer Salina, Kansas Hybrid eligible (partially remote, must reside in US)
The K-State Aerospace and Technology Campus in Salina is seeking an Instructional Designer to provide comprehensive support for a range of instructional technologies used throughout the college. This position requires a versatile individual capable of assisting faculty and staff with various educational technologies, including, but not limited to, Learning Management System (LMS), video conferencing tools such as Zoom, lecture capture systems, and video editing software.

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a full time, 12-month, Post-Doctoral Fellow position. This Post-Doctoral position for independent research including but not limited to viruses such as Influenza, African swine fever, Vesicular Stomatitis, Rift Valley Fever, Monkey Pox and other select agents under both BSL-2 and BSL-3 bio-containment conditions. Duties would include planning and conducting experiments; writing and editing manuscripts/articles; establishing procedures and techniques; and provide educational guidance to students. This position is part of a very busy, successful research team whose main goal is to develop rationally designed vaccines and diagnostics against high-consequence foreign animal, emerging and zoonotic disease threats. The position requires the individual to display critical thinking and independent judgement as it relates to ongoing and new molecular, viral research with direct guidance from the Research Science Manager and Primary Investigator. The research is conducted at the BSL2 and BSL3 level of containment and utilizes several select target animal models such as pigs, cows, chickens and mice. The position requires the acquisition and maintenance of a DOJ Select Agent clearance.
Food Systems Entrepreneurial Resource Navigator Other On-site requirement
K-State Research and Extension is seeking a qualified applicant to support its role in the Heartland Regional Food Business Center (HRFBC). The HRFBC helps farm and food enterprises develop local and regional food businesses and markets with an emphasis on assisting historically underserved audiences. Partner organizations provide assistance from startup through expansion and provides support for supply chain connections. The Food Systems Entrepreneurial Resource Navigators will be responsible for providing technical assistance to small, midsized and diverse farm and food-based businesses (i.e. entrepreneurs selling value-added products, opening a restaurant, renovating a rural grocery store etc.) across Kansas and support programming to fulfill K-State Research and Extension's responsibilities for the HRFBC. This position will play a critical role on the team implementing the HRFBC objectives in Kansas. This position will be located in the Douglas County Extension office
Office Specialist II Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
Primary receptionist for the department main phone and for visitors to the department. Ensures smooth day-to-day operations and support for the department and Program Administrator. They interact frequently and professionally with undergraduate students, graduate students, full-time professional staff, and faculty. They will also assist with Kansas Farm Management tasks and projects.
Graphic Designer Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This graphic design position supports the visual identity of Kansas State University through design. This position, housed in the Division of Communications and Marketing, serves a wide variety of clients across the institution, including the Offices of the President and Provost, academic colleges and departments, student success units, student life units and more, with primary focus on new student recruitment design needs for the Office of Enrollment Management and the Office of Recruitment and Admissions. The successful candidate will be creative, results-oriented and collaborative with other design team members, marketing staff, video staff and the university’s web services team. The graphic designer will also meet with clients to understand their goals and ensure design solution work to achieve them. This position reports to the Creative Director within the Division of Communications and Marketing.
