| The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking Health Information Specialists to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. While there are many responsibilities of someone in this role, this position is primarily responsible for assisting in the charge capture and management of all medical records for the VHC. This position provides support to the clinical staff by performing real-time auditing services/charge capture during the episode of care and in within the patient care area, primarily in the emergency department. The person in this role should possess critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively during times of high patient volume. Excellent communication and organization skills are utilized daily. This position will also serve as primary support for the hospital information system, Instinct, assisting students and staff with help and training as needed and providing back-up support for Client Services. The ideal applicant will be comfortable working in the patient care area and be willing to learn medical terminology. The schedule for Health Information Specialists will include three evenings a week and rotating weekends for a four-day work week. |
