Fellow (Post Doc) Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Fellow (Post Doc). This position is for a Post-Doctoral fellow to conduct independent research as part of a newly established research team at K-State (Souza-Neto Lab). This position focuses primarily on studying the interplay between host/vector-virus-microbiome in agricultural and zoonotic arboviruses. The selected candidate will engage in research activities encompassing a wide repertoire of modern technologies including WGS, RNA-seq, 16S microbiomics, gene silencing and genome editing to identify target genes and microbes important for virus infection/transmission that could be further used to the development of countermeasure tools to such diseases. This position is part of multidisciplinary and collaborative activities that will require engagement with collaborators within and outside the college, including USDA, and requires dedication to activities related to insect vectors (mosquito) rearing and manipulation, and eventual support to animal. Duties would include planning and conducting experiments; writing and editing manuscripts/articles; establishing procedures and techniques; and provide educational guidance to students. The position requires the individual to display critical thinking and independent judgement as it relates to ongoing and new molecular, viral, host and vector research with direct guidance from the Principal Investigator.

Diagnostic Technician II-RFFIT Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The person in this position will participate in the performance of rabies serum neutralization antibody analyses on human and animal sera and rabies antigen dectection on animal tissue samples. Animal Technician II Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This is a relief emergency milking position. Duties include setting up milking equipment, carefully moving cows to and from the milking parlor, prepping cows properly for milking (predippping and cleaning of teats), diagnosing abnormal milk (if mastitis exists then proper milking and disposal of milk must occur), attaching milking machines, and post-dipping teats after milking. The employee sanitizes the equipment before and after each milking shift. In addition, the employee coducts regular inspection of the milk tank compressors, milk line and pump to ensure bulk storage tanks are operating correcting and cooling milk before, during, and after each milking shift. Other miscellaneous animal care duties may be assigned during the milking shift.
Lab Administrator- Rabies Mailroom Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The primary duties of this position will be as a supervisor in the Mailroom and Sample accessioning area of the Rabies Laboratory. This essential position within KSVDL exists to serve the needs of both the clientele of and testing teams in the Rabies Laboratory in regard to overseeing package intake into the laboratory, accessioning, and sample referrals. This position will oversee all serology submissions and may also be involved in special projects dealing with client-oriented tasks pertaining to samples and process improvements. This position will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory in the mailroom and accessioning area. Some flexibility may be required regarding work hours at selected/occasional times.

Animal Technician Supervisor Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This position will function as the assistant manager of the Dairy Teaching and Research Center and is responsible for ensuring the safety of the cows and other diary unit employees.The incumbent will assume responsibility for operation of the dairy unit in the manager's absence. Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Pharmacology Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Department of Anatomy and Physiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University is seeking a pharmacology faculty member (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). This is a full-time position with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications. The position is available as (1) a research and teaching appointment (tenure-track/tenured) or (2) a primarily teaching appointment (clinical-track) and may be a 9- or 12-month position based on the applicant. The candidate will be expected to teach pharmacology in the graduate and professional curriculums, and contribute to the service mission of the Department, College, and University. Specific teaching requirements will be tailored to the expertise of the applicant and the needs of the College but it is anticipated that the teaching appointment for this position will be a minimum of 40% for tenure-track and 70% for clinical track. Applicants with the ability to teach additional related biomedical topics, including physiology, are especially desirable. The overall originality and promise of a candidate’s research will be prioritized rather than the candidate’s area of specialization within pharmacology or related fields for tenure-track/tenured candidates.
