About This Role:

The Academic & Career Engagement Coordinator (Student Programs Coordinator) will collaborate with campus partners in academic advising, financial services, career engagement, and enrollment management to ensure the KSU military-affiliated community including veterans, active-duty service members, their spouses/partners, and their dependents are represented and served in an impactful manner.  The Coordinator will serve as a critical campus partner in communicating the specific needs of the student population to campus partners and ensure best practices are implemented in serving the students.  The Student Programs Coordinator will receive training as a School Certifying Official (SCO) to understand the intricacies of benefits processing and the impact on the student experience.  The coordinator will facilitate engagement activities with colleges and departments to foster a respectful, positive, and inclusive environment.

The MARC was created in 2011 by the Office of Non-Traditional & Veteran Student Services as a meeting place for veteran and military-affiliated students. As part of a CEVSS grant, the newly remodeled center will centralize services for the military-affiliated population to provide a seamless support network. 

The MARC is also home to Kansas State University's Veteran Student Organization (VSO). The VSO holds monthly meetings at the Center to discuss all upcoming opportunities and organization agenda.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of relevant experience.
  • This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Military and student veteran experience
  • Experience in university and/or academic institutions
  • Direct experience working in higher education with student veterans and military connected students.
  • Experience working with faculty/staff/students in an educational setting.
  • Experience working with the military-affiliated population and knowledge of resources available to the population.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$45,000.000 i- $47,000.018 annually ($1,730.770-$1,807.693 bi-weekly)
