We seek an enthusiastic and versatile geologists able to contribute to our growing research in Hydrogeology. It is expected that the successful candidate will teach two introductory geology course sections during the Fall 2024 term, and during the Spring 2025 term, one section of introductory geology and one section of Hydrogeology. In addition, the lecturer will contribute to new and exciting research avenues that complement existing research efforts and publish results in peer-reviewed journals. Engagement in graduate and undergraduate mentoring and graduate-level instruction may also be possible.

Responsibilities include leading a breeding program to develop and release new sorghum germplasm, parent lines, and hybrids. Areas of innovation could include germplasm characterization, application of functional genomics, statistical genetics, and applied molecular breeding approaches to sorghum breeding. Specific research targets may include abiotic and biotic constraints to production and pursuit of improvement for productivity and profitability. The presence of a large and diverse community of sorghum researchers with the KSU Center for Sorghum Improvement and USDA-CGAHR provides ample opportunity for cross-disciplinary collaboration. The incumbent is expected to develop an externally funded research program including the training of graduate students, peer-reviewed publication of research results, and promoting collegiality within the KSU and broader communities. Responsibilities include teaching courses in plant breeding/genetics, and the development of commercially relevant improvements in sorghum through public-private collaborations. The Salina Upward Bound Program is seeking a temporary Instructor for the K-State Manhattan Campus. This position is responsible for developing and teaching summer curriculum to the TRIO Upward Bound (UB) participants. The Upward Bound Summer Program classes will be held June 11-28, 2024. The instructor reports to the Director and works closely with the Academic Services Coordinator. Instructors will develop a curriculum based on designated subject they are hired to teach (English; Science; Financial Literature; Math; Engineering and Technology; Foreign Language during the summer program for income-limited and/or first-generation college-bound students). This position will be a 12-month appointment with approximately 70% research, 20% teaching, and 10% service appointment. Clinical Pathology Locum Instructor Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
