Mentor SAUB-SUM Salina, Kansas On-site requirement
Salina Upward Bound in the Department of Student Belonging & Inclusion at Kansas State University is seeking to fill a Staff Assistant/Mentor position. This position will serve as a staff assistant/mentor. The Staff Assistant/Mentor is responsible for providing supervision of the TRIO Upward Bound (UB) participants during the Upward Bound summer program held on the K-State Manhattan Campus. The Upward Bound Summer program is June 3-July 12, 2024 and the residential portion of the summer program is June 3-June 28, 2024. The Mentor will facilitate small group activities and events and supervise TRIO Upward Bound participants residing on campus during the residential summer program and while attending college visits, cultural activities, and events. Instructor/SAUB-SUM Salina, Kansas On-site requirement
The Salina Upward Bound Program is seeking a temporary Instructor for the K-State Manhattan Campus. This position is responsible for developing and teaching summer curriculum to the TRIO Upward Bound (UB) participants. The Upward Bound Summer Program classes will be held June 11-28, 2024. The instructor reports to the Director and works closely with the Academic Services Coordinator. Instructors will develop a curriculum based on designated subject they are hired to teach (English; Science; Financial Literature; Math; Engineering and Technology; Foreign Language during the summer program for income-limited and/or first-generation college-bound students). Instructor must be versatile in designing regular curriculum along with designing a project-based curriculum. Teach 3-4 classes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for three weeks. Attend weekly faculty meeting and 1-day training held on June 8, 2024.
Animal Technician Supervisor Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This position will function as the assistant manager of the Dairy Teaching and Research Center and is responsible for ensuring the safety of the cows and other diary unit employees.The incumbent will assume responsibility for operation of the dairy unit in the manager's absence. Incumbent is responsible for milking cows at least two days each week and for making vital animal observations during the milking process. Supervises and trains student assistants in proper milking procedures and other general dairy farm duties. This person will offer assistance when required in performing daily routines. Practices and teaches safety precautions at all times. Maintains and administers a continuing education program for all employees involved in animal care and equipment maintenance.
