About This Role

The 4-H Events Coordinator coordinates and manages statewide 4-H events and activities for young people in collaboration with state and regional specialists, Extension staff, and youth and adult volunteers. The Coordinator is responsible for risk management plans, program planning, managing financial resources, and working with teams of youth and adults to deliver events that support the Kansas 4-H Youth Development program and its priorities. This position manages 4-H events efficiently and effectively, maintaining or developing systems and using electronic, digital, and social media technologies to communicate.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and four years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, youth development, human development and family studies or related field, or degree appropriate to events program management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in coordinating 4-H events and/or youth educational activities.
  • Strong organizational and program management skills
  • Experience working with individuals, groups and co-workers to accomplish goals.
  • Experience in word processing, databases, social media and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with youth and adult volunteers.
  • Program development, teaching and evaluation skills.
