About Us

The Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning (LARCP) in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign) at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, is seeking qualified candidates to teach design studios and courses in the department related to socio-ecological systems as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We're specifically seeking candidates with expertise in GIS, GeoDesign, and spatial analysis.

Worksite Option

This position is required to be performed on-site.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in landscape architecture or a closely allied field. Candidate must have at least one degree in landscape architecture.
  • Evidence of ability to deliver inspired teaching.
  • Evidence of or potential for research, scholarship, and/or creative activity with a focused agenda.
  • Professional, pedagogical, or scholarly experience in socio-ecological systems and GIS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. (or ABD) in landscape architecture or closely allied field.
  • Professional licensure.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of student interests and academic levels.
  • Ability to help students develop career-ready professional skills.
  • Relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to teach studios, seminars, and lecture classes.
  • Ability to teach classes in a desired focus area or one or more of the following areas:
    • Environmental Ethics
    • Landscape Restoration
    • Site Planning and Design
    • Construction Implementation
    • Urban Forestry
