The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University invites applications for a clinical assistant professor, term appointment, in Equine Field Service. Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree. The successful candidate should be committed to academia and dedicated to contributing to a high-quality teaching program. Preference will be given to candidates with three years of clinical experience, internship training, or other advanced training appropriate for this position.
Directed clinical service activities include providing student oversight of field service patients, reproduction services, and patients with urgent care needs and minor surgeries. Collaboration with other services, faculty and house officers within the hospital is needed in this position. Work schedule will be flexible to meet service needs and provide occasional support of House Officers after hours.
Teaching responsibilities include clinical, and possible didactic, instruction of veterinary students, clinical rounds, as well as participation in occasional outreach activities. The successful candidate must maintain a high-quality equine clinical service with a demonstrated commitment to building caseload and providing exceptional service and client communication.
Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications. The start date is negotiable based on passing of a background check and submission of official transcripts.
The qualified person will join a dedicated team of equine medicine, surgery, field service, reproduction and large animal emergency medicine faculty members. In addition, each of the service areas have great support staff to fulfill the mission of quality patient care and exceptional customer service.
This position is On-site.
