Kansas State University's Aerospace and Technology Campus in Salina is seeking an Instructor to teach mechanical properties and strengths and limitations of composite materials. This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit-eligible position.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Highly preferred - 1-3 years of relevant experience as an Airframe mechanic, and/or Part 147 teaching experience, and/or Certified Composite Technician with 1-3 years of composites experience
  • 5-10 years of composites manufacturing or closely related field
  • 1 year of experience in installation, maintenance, and operation of machine tools and related laboratory equipment
  • Experience in standard manufacturing shop practices and equipment
  • Experience in use of CAD and CAM software in the design and manufacturing of products
  • Excellent verbal communications skills and able to communicate well with faculty, students, and outside organizations

Additional licenses / registrations / certifications:

  • A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certifications preferred

Additional Role Information:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
