About This Role

Student Success Coaches advise a consistent cohort of students in the College of Technology and Aviation academic programs throughout their collegiate careers from matriculation to graduation. The Student Success Coach position extends beyond the traditional academic advising philosophy and is designed for an integrated academic and student support experience. As part of the Division for Academic and Student Success, Coaches are integrally involved with many facets of a student’s academic, personal and future professional success by providing academic, career and life coaching. In addition to advising and student advocacy, Student Success Coaches participate in curriculum training, student life activity support, campus engagement, and professional development.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years experience working in higher education
  • Experience working in college admissions or academic advising
  • Familiarity with K-State Salina academic programs and curriculum
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Academic Advising, College Student Development, Education, or related field
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven record of organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines, be detail-oriented, and prioritize
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong personal computer skills
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality and other ethical standards

Additional licenses / registrations / certifications:

  • Driver's License required upon employment and must be maintained.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
