We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Extension Assistant to join our team and support our mission.

The Extension Assistant will be responsible for developing extension materials, supporting training sessions, and supporting the Kansas Soil Health Network (KSHN) with a particular focus on wheat-based cropping systems. This role involves organizing field days and utilizing various communication methods to engage and educate producers about regenerative agricultural practices.

This position is required to be performed on-site.  Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Requires a BS degree and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree preferred in Agronomy, Soil Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing educational materials and conducting training sessions.
  • Knowledge of regenerative agriculture practices and soil health principles, particularly in wheat-based cropping systems.
  • Strong organizational and event planning skills.
  • Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and social media for outreach and education.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
