About This Role

The Division of Facilities is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Data Specialist to manage and maintain accurate space and building data across multiple university systems. In this role, you will conduct space audits, collaborate with campus partners, and produce detailed reports that directly inform strategic planning and campus operations. This position will utilize enterprise tools like AiM and other specialized software to analyze space utilization, develop advanced data analytics, and ensure data consistency across platforms. You will also oversee archiving of electronic and paper building records, maintaining organized and accessible databases. We’re seeking a candidate who thrives in complexity, enjoys working across teams, and adapts seamlessly to shifting priorities. This role requires excellent customer service skills to assist a variety of stakeholders by providing timely and accurate space and building information. In addition, you’ll actively contribute to diverse space management projects and support other related initiatives as needed.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management systems.
  • Affective communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Bachelors degree and 5-10 years of relevant experience in data management (SQL, Oracle), including proficiency with Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools or Power BI.
  • Strong customer service skills and communication skills.
  • Experience with facilities or space planning software (AutoCAD, AiM, VFA, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with digital archive management.
  • Experience with ESRI GIS software or similar.
