About This Role

This position will perform laboratory experiments, determine the chemical and physical structure of starches/carbohydrates/polysaccharides, and their functional and nutritional properties. The candidate is expected to write reports and manuscripts for publication, and give presentations to industrial companies and at scientific conferences. The candidate must be able to work in a multicultural environment. This is a full-time, temporary position for 12 months, with continuation dependent on ongoing funding, satisfactory progress, and ongoing need for the services.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, polymer science, grain science, food science or relevant discipline and two years of relevant experience. The degree requirement is necessary to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong track record of research publication in referred journals. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to speak clear English. Candidates should be highly motivated, can do research independently and have a strong background in emulsion science.
    Other Requirements:
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
    • The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative environment.
