This position serves, on a day-to-day basis, as the primary contact for current as well as prospective students who wish to utilize VA educational benefits. The position serves as a VA School Certifying Official (SCO) responsible for counseling students through the application to recipient process, processing documents received, updating systems of record, and assisting with annual audits of VA educational benefits. Robust accounting and/or analytical skills are critical attributes for this position. Familiarity with applying complex regulations to daily processes is essential. The position requires the utilization of K-State’s Student Information System, KSIS, as well as reports in reviewing, documenting, authorizing, and reconciling VA benefits. The successful candidate for this position should possess a strong track record of providing customer service that is accurate, timely, and empathetic in a fast-paced environment.
The staff members in the Office of Student Financial Assistance serve students and their families at every step of the journey while at Kansas State University to guide students through the scholarship and financial aid process.
