About This Role

The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University seeks a Laboratory Client Services Rep. The primary task will be to receive and accession samples arriving at the KSVDL (Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory) for diagnostic testing. This will include collecting UPS, FedEx, and USPS packages, logging packages, opening/reviewing submissions, entering/accessioning all samples into the laboratory information management system and data entry of sample submission. Duties will include processing and management of all outgoing referral testing and outgoing packages. Administrative tasks, including filing and scanning paperwork, or assistance with supply/inventory management, safe and accurate sample transportation to each internal or offsite laboratories, and maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of work areas will be performed daily. All these tasks are expected to be completed in accordance with quality assurance and quality-controlled procedures with the intent of adhering to AAVLD (American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians) accreditation guidelines.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • One year of veterinary laboratory sample handling/accessioning
  • General experience with computer software and experience using LIMS systems
  • Use of a computer to enter/generate data in UVIS and Microsoft Office Software
  • Knowledge of clinical specimens/testing and medical data bases as documented in the application materials
  • Animal Science/Veterinary Medical experience/education
