About This Role:

Kansas State University Salina is seeking a General Maintenance and Repair Technician II (GMRT) to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and service work on vehicles, machinery, equipment, tools, and buildings. It is the mission of the department to keep the vehicles, equipment and grounds functional and attractive at the Kansas State Salina campus to provide a comfortable, pleasing environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Position duties include but are not limited to: Vehicle/Equipment/Tool Maintenance and Repairs, Building Repair Services – including light Plumbing/HVAC/Carpentry repair, Grounds Maintenance, Snow Removal, and Event/Office Setup support.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires one year of relevant experience.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer high school graduate or equivalent of 3 years of experience and knowledge in diagnosis, repair in both gas and diesel equipment along with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • This position is covered by the Kansas Association of Public Employees (KAPE) agreement.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:
